Kerassentials Application Guide – How to Apply for Best Results

Correct application is the single most important factor in Kerassentials effectiveness. Here is the complete application guide based on Dr. Kimberly Langdon’s protocol.

Materials You Need

Clean towel dedicated to feet, Kerassentials bottle with brush applicator, nail file or buffer (optional, for smoothing overly thick nails before application), and timer or watch for the absorption window. Keep these supplies in one place to build a consistent routine.

Pre-Application: The Shower Step

Shower with comfortably warm (not scalding) water for at least 5 minutes before applying Kerassentials. Longer shower exposure increases nail hydration and porosity. Do not apply any lotion or oil to your feet during the shower before Kerassentials — these can coat the nail and reduce serum penetration.

Application: Full Coverage Protocol

Using the brush applicator, apply Kerassentials in this sequence: (1) the entire nail surface from base to tip, (2) the lateral nail folds on both sides, (3) under the nail tip at the hyponychium, (4) the cuticle and proximal nail fold. Do not rush this step — complete coverage is essential for preventing reinfection from peripheral sites.

Post-Application: Massage and Absorption

After applying, use a clean fingertip to massage the serum into the nail and surrounding skin with gentle circular motions for 30 seconds per nail. Then wait 2 to 3 minutes before putting on socks. This absorption window is the most commonly skipped step — and one of the most important for transungual delivery.

Frequency and Duration

Apply once daily minimum, ideally twice daily (morning after shower and evening before bed) for moderate to severe infections. Continue for at least 90 days and until the infected nail has completely grown out and been replaced by clear, healthy nail tissue. Stopping too early is the most common reason for incomplete resolution.
